BS5837 Tree SurveyLocal Authority planning applications will require details of nearby trees on the property and adjoining properties and you may need to submit a tree survey with your application. It is a developer’s responsibility to demonstrate that the impact on the existing trees is acceptable through the submission of an appropriate arboricultural report.
The information required in the survey includes details of species, size, age, physiological and structural condition and a grading in accordance with BS5837: Trees in relation to design, demolition and construction' . |
Working with your architect or planning consultant we can survey the trees and produce a report that meets the specification and requirements of the Local Planning Authority. Working with AutoCAD based software we can also provide the survey data in graphical (DWG) format suitable for inclusion as a layers within the design drawings.
For more complex developments you may also require an Arboricultural Implications Assessment (AIA), a Tree Protection Plan (TPP) and an Arboricultural Method Statement (AMS). The AIA looks at the potential impact of the proposed development on the trees and the TPP and AMS set out the measures to protect the retained trees during development. |
